                              WILFORD R. SHAWLEY

BELDING - Wilford R.Shawley, 85, of 303 N.Demorest, Belding, died Wednesday 
evening at Belding Christian Nursing Home.

Born April 24, 1906 in Belding, he was the son of William and Bertha Bain 
Shawley. He was graduated from Belding High School in 1924, served in the Army 
in World War II and a former member of Michigan National Guard.

He was a bricklayer for Barry and Sons of Lowell, retiring in 1971.

He was a member of Church of Christ Fundamental of Belding.

He was married dec. 28 1941, in Belding to Othela Coleman she survives.Also 
surviving are two daughters,Debbie McPeck and Susan Meagher, both of Belding; 
and a sister, Thelma Hoffman of Albany, N.Y.

Cremation has taken place. Memorial services will be held Saturday  at 1 p.m. at 
Church of Christ Fundamental, with the Rev. Floyd McCrimmon officiating.

Memorials for Ionia County Commission on Aging and Belding Library have been 
established in care of John Funeral Home which made arrangements.
