Burial was in the Catholic section of Portland cemetery. Relatives of the deceased has an added sorrow Monday when Jerry Shay, a brother, who had come here from Chicago for the funeral, suffered a stroke. He was removed to the home of a son, R. J. Shay in Lansing, where he is reported in serious condition. Survivors of the deceased include three daughters, Mrs. Ida Newkirk of Grand Rapids, Mrs. Thomas Gannon of Chicago, Miss Dorothy Shay of Portland, and two sons, Allen Shay of Sunfield and John Shay of Portland. There are two sisters, Mrs. Joseph Bader and Mrs. Margaret Larkin, both of Lansing.
