Ionia Sentinel-Standard - Thurs. Aug. 26, 1993

PORTLAND- Marie H. Shay, 93, of Portland, died on Tuesday in Grand Rapids. She 
was born in Fowlerville on January 5, 1900, the daughter of William and Alice 
Krause Hath.

She was a member of the Portland United Methodist Church, a member and past 
Worthy Matron of the Portland Chapter No. 258 O.E.S., and a retired school 
teacher.

She is survived by two sisters-in-law, including Dorothy Blackman of Portland; 
and two nephews.

The family will be at the Neller Chapel, Portland, on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 
7 to 9 p.m.

Funeral services will be 1 p.m. on Friday at the Portland United Methodist 
Church, with the Rev. Elaine M. Buker officiating.

Burial will be in Portland Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be John and Louis Cook, Robbin and Russell Blackman, John 
Freeman and Vernon Fedewa.

A memorial has been established for the Portland Public Library, in care of the 
funeral home.
