Arthur Sheets Ends Life Saturday
Arthur Sheets, 67, well known Danby Township resident, who had been in ill 
health for some time, took his own life at about 7:30 Wednesday morning at his 
home.  Mr. Sheets had seated himself on a crate in the chicken coop and shot 
himself through the heart with a .32 caliber rifle. No one heard the shot and he 
was found some time later when he did not appear to assist in the morning 
chores. Harry Baldwin had been employed at the farm for the past six years and 
Mrs. Frank Jones has been the housekeeper for the same length of time. 
He is survived by one brother, John of Portland, and three nieces, Mrs. Lela 
Winter, Mrs. Harold Aungt of Danby and Mrs. Harold Buckmeyer of Toledo
Harry Meyers, Ionia county coroner, who was called, stated that no inquest would 
be held.
Funeral services will be held at Bandfield Chapel Friday afternoon at 2:30 with 
burial in Danby Cemetery.

He was the son of Catherine and Winfield Scott Sheets.
