Shelden, of Fenwick, died at the home of his father-in-law, Albert Guernsey, Saturday night at about 10 o’clock of blood poisoning after suffering the most intense pain for hours. An abscess commenced to form in his nose last Thursday and continued to grow worse. It finally developed into blood poison and extending to the brain caused his death. He was born in Lansing, Mich., 36 years ago, but after marriage, lived in this vicinity most of the time. Mr. Shelden lost his wife a year ago last March and now, by his untimely death, leaves a little son of five years to mourn, besides parents, relatives and friends. The funeral was held at the home of Mr. Guernsey at one o’clock Tuesday afternoon, the services being in charge of Rev. W.W. Hurd. Interment was made in East Plains cemetery. The sympathy of the people of the community is with those left to mourn, especially for the little orphaned boy.
