He was a resident of Grayling for some time, residing there after being married to Miss Pearl Ackerman, September 15, 1897. After a long illness she passed away, leaving him alone through life, until later on coming to Lake Odessa where he has lived for several years. For the last year he has been in poor health and has been patient through his suffering. He leaves to mourn, a half-sister and brother Mrs. Lottie Haney and David Shellenbarger. He also leaves many relatives and a host of friends. Mr. Shellenbarger was found dead in bed Tuesday morning. The funeral was held Thursday afternoon at the Calvary U.B. church. The pastor gave the sermon and Mrs. William Tietz, Mrs. Marinus Hoffs and Mrs. R.W. Goodemoot furnished the music. Burial was at Lakeside cemetery.
