Ionia Sentinel - 20 August 1964
Whitney B. Shellenbarger, 75, former resident of Ionia, died suddenly Wednesday 
morning at his home in Greenville.  A veteran of World War I, he was born in 
Gratiot County October 5, 1888 son of George and Idelia Shellenbarger.  
Survivors include a son, Junior Shellenbarger of Maple Rapids; a stepson, 
Harold Train of Sheridan; three daughters, Mrs. Russell Lake of Greenville, 
Mrs. Robert Magee of Orleans, Mass., and Mrs. Larry Lake of Palo; two step-
daughters, Mrs. Lawrence Kammers of Ionia, and Mrs. Violet Corder of Alma; one 
sister, Mrs. Pearl Hurst of St. Johns; 30 grand and 17 great-grandchildren.

Funeral service will be at 1 o'clock Saturday afternoon at Brown - Teman 
funeral home in Greenville.  The Rev. Drell Butler will officiate and interment 
will be at Clarksville cemetery.
