Lake Odessa Wave-Thurs. December 16, 1976

Services Held for Laura Shellenbarger
Mrs. Laura Shellenbarger, 82, passed away at Pennock Hospital Saturday, 
afternoon, December 11.

She was born January 21,1894 in Scotch Ridge, Ohio, the daughter of Alonzo and 
Lucy (Householder) Black and attended the Scotch Ridge School.

She married Elmer Shellenbrger May 13, 1916 at Lake Odessa and resided on farms 
in the area until she moved to Lake Odessa in October of 1960. Her husband 
passed away August 13, 1948. Mrs.Shellenbarger was a member of the Lake Odessa 
Senior Citizens.

Surviving are four daughters, Mrs.Lester (Louise) Pennington and Mrs.Bradley 
(Lenore) Pierce, both of Lake Odessa, Mrs.Janet Mouser of Lansing and Mrs.Lucy 
Rathbun of Flint; one son, Donald of Lake Odessa; 20 grandchildren; 50 great-
grandchildren; a brother, George Black of Toledo, Ohio; and two sisters, 
Mrs.Daisy Kittredge of Toledo, Ohio and Mrs.Justin (Doris) Whiting of Camarillo, 
California.

Funeral Services were held Tuesday at 2 p.m. at the Pickens-Koops Funeral 
Chapel. Rev. James Ferguson officiated with burial in Lakeside Cemetery.
