Mrs. Shellenbarger leaves a son David and a daughter Mrs. Lottie Henney and a step-son Albert, all of this place. Sarah Jane Rush, daughter of Eber and Rebecca Rush, was born in Odessa township June 10, 1860, and departed this life at her home, January 27, 1931, at the age of 70 years, seven months and 17 days. She was united in marriage to Daniel Shellenbarger, March 25, 1880. To this union were born three children, Nettie Oliver, now deceased, David Shellenbarger and Lottie Henney, who both reside in Lake Odessa. The deceased has spent all her life in Odessa township. She with her husband found the Lord and united with the Calvary church in March 1919, and the following September her husband left her to be with Jesus. She always loved the old time gospel and this fall and winter has been deeply interested attending meetings at the Calvary church, Tamarac church and at the time of her affliction was enjoying the full gospel preached by C. C. Mourer at the First United Brethren church. For the past three or four years she has suffered from the dreaded disease, sugar diabetes, trying all medical aid and of late seemed to be better but it reacted and she suffered two strokes which resulted in her death. She will be missed by her many friends but our loss is her eternal gain. She leaves to mourn the two children, David and Lottie, one stepson, Albert, four grandchildren, one sister Louisa Hutchins of Hale, Mich., one brother Otis Rush of Lansing, besides a host of friends.
