Edwin Shellhorn, 73, prominent Lake Odessa resident, died Monday night in the 
Pennock hospital at Hastings. 

Funeral services will be conducted Thursday at 2 p.m. from the Pickens funeral 
home, and burial will be at Lakeside cemetery.

Mr. Shellhorn owned and operated a clothing store at Lake Odessa for 29 years, 
retiring a few years ago.  He was elected village president of Lake Odessa in 
1913, and served one term, later becoming a member of the village council.  
For nine years Mr. Shellhorn served the community as postmaster, from 1914 
until 1923.

Survivors include his wife, Nettie; a daughter, Mrs. Robert Baird, of Lansing, 
and a son, E. V. Shellhorn, of Kalkaska.
