Lake Odessa Wave, 22 Apr 1904

Katherine Ann Isenberger was born in Wayne County, Ohio, February 22, 1849 and 
was married to Francis E. Shellman on December 16, 1869.

Mr. and Mrs. Shellman early moved to Michigan and have been residents of this 
part of the state for many years, and have made hosts of friends.  They have 
been considered among the prominent pioneers of the county.

Mrs. Shellman died at her home about five miles northwest of the village on 
Wednesday, April 13th, and the funeral was held from the Apostolic church in 
this village on Friday afternoon, Rev. J. H. Wilcox of the M. E. church, 
officiating.  Her remains were laid at rest in Lakeside cemetery.

She leaves, besides a kind and devoted husband, a family of six children, who 
have the deepest sympathy of the entire community and their many friends in 
their sad bereavement.  Mrs. Shellman was a kind and lovable character, all 
liked her who knew her, and she passed from this earth strong in the love of 
her Maker.  Her last words were: “Good bye; I am going to rest.”
