Lake Odessa Wave-Thurs. January 3, 1957

OLIVER SHELLMAN DIED MONDAY
Oliver R. Shellman, 86, retired farmer, died unexpectedly Monday about 9 a.m. He 
collapsed on the street near the post office and death was attributed to a heart 
ailment. He had been under the care of the doctor but coroner Dale Kauffman was 
called.

He had been a resident of Odessa township most of his life coming here from 
Doylestown, Ohio when a small boy with his parents Francis and Catherine 
Shellman. After his marriage to Alice Carrier at Barberton, Ohio in 1901 they 
lived on their farm 3 1/2 miles northwest of town. She passed away in April 
1955, following a car accident in which she received injuries and died twelve 
days later.

Surviving are one daughter, Mrs.Florence Hunt, one son, Clifford; one sister 
Mrs. Florence Wilson and one brother Earl, all of Lake Odessa; 4 grandchildren 
and 4 great-grandchildren.

Funeral Services were held Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. at the Pickens Funeral Chapel 
with burial in Lakeside Cemetery.
