Shepard, 80, died suddenly at her home in Lansing last Saturday morning from a blood clot after an illness of less than an hour. Funeral services were held at a Lansing chapel Tuesday afternoon, the Rev. Julius Fishbeck, of Lansing First Baptist church officiating. Burial was in Danby cemetery. Bearers were all former neighbors, Richard and Robert Selden, Hugh Whitmore, Leo Kerr, Roy Dravenstatt, Mark Brokaw. Burial was in Danby cemetery. Mrs. Shepard’s maiden name was Lillian Dale and she was born at Owen Sound, Ontario. She came to the vicinity of Eagle when a girl and married Mr. Shepard at the farm home of her parents, Henry and Mary Dale. The couple lived in that vicinity for over 50 years, celebrating their golden wedding before leaving the farm to live in Lasing. Both Mr. and Mrs. Shepard were active workers in Portland Baptist church for years, transferring to Lansing church when they moved to that city. The husband survives, as do two daughters, Mrs. R. J. Parisian, Lansing, and Mrs. A. J. McCormack, Portland R3, and there is a grandson, James McCormack.
