Clarksville Record, 9 Nov 1899

Mr. Ed. Shepherd died October 30, 1899, aged 53 years.   He has been a well known 
and highly respected citizen of this township for many years.

He has been sick for a long time, and has suffered much.  He leaves, besides a 
wife, son, and daughter, a host of sympathizing friends.  The funeral was held 
from the W. M. church of this village last week Wednesday, and was attended by a 
large concourse.
