Ionia Daily Sentinel – Saturday, 20 June 1914

Mrs. William Sherd died last Thursday at the home in Bushnell after an illness 
of several years, aged 75 years, 11 days.  Eliza Lewis was born in Sandusky, 
O., May 31, 1839, married to Wm. Sherd Dec. 29, 1858, moved to Bushnell in 
1870.  Five children were born to this union, four living besides 20 
grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren.  The funeral was held on Sunday at 
the Baptist Church conducted by Rev. I. B. Buffum.  The burial was in Palo 
Cemetery.  Mrs. Sherd was very highly respected and greatly loved for her 
kindly ways and disposition.
