Mrs. Nettie Sherd, 75, of 113 Webber Court died at the home of her daughter, 
Mrs. Roy Martin, of North Jackson Street Tuesday morning at 8 o’clock.  She 
was born in Ohio December 19, 1872, but she has resided in Ionia for the past 
25 years moving here from near Sheridan.  Her husband, LaVern Sherd, died 7 
years ago.

Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Roy Martin; six grandchildren, Meredith 
Martin of Ionia, Mrs. Marguerite Turnbull of Boston, Mass., Mrs. Harold 
DeGroot and Vivian, Doris and Bernice Martin, all of Grand Rapids; and six 
great grandchildren.

The body will repose at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Roy Martin, 37 North 
Jackson Street, until 1:30 o’clock Saturday afternoon.  Funeral services will 
be held Saturday, March 29 at 2:30 p.m. from the First Baptist Church of Ionia 
with the Rev. W. L. Cruthers officiating, interment will be in Palo cemetery.
