Ionia Sentinel Standard, 22 Sep 1966

Leslie M. Sherd, 72, died suddenly Wednesday morning at 10 o’clock at his route 
one Sheridan home.  He lived most of his life in Bushnell township, Montcalm 
county and was a retired employee of Ionia State Hospital.  In 1915 he was 
married to Mildred Hoyt who survives.

Other survivors are four sons, Gerald of Long Island, N.Y., Duane of Pompeii, 
Ronald of Ionia and Harland of Stanton; three daughters, Mrs. Weston Townsend 
of Belding, Mrs. Ralph Field of Edmore and Mrs. Richard Harriman of Fenwick; as 
brother, Irving of Carson City, and 16 grandchildren and four great 
grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by three sons, Marshall, Robert and 
Herald.

Funeral services will be Saturday afternoon at 2 o’clock at Stebbins funeral 
home in Sheridan.  Rev. Lewis Herrick will officiate and burial will be in Palo 
cemetery.
