The Ionia Sentinel-Standard, Tuesday, May 9, 2000
Georgiabelle R. (Jinx) Sherd, 71, of Sheridan, passed away on Monday, May 8, 
2000 at her home.  She was born September 22, 1928 in Ionia to Fred E. Jenks 
and Myrtie (Luce) Jenks).  She as married to Gerald Sherd on July 4, 1947, in 
Ionia.

She is survived by her husband, Gerald Sherd; one son, Gregory and Diana Sherd 
of Milan; one daughter, Gloria Jean and Weslie Thornton of Memphis, Tennessee; 
four grandchildren, Jeremy Sherd, Jason Sherd, Paige Thornton and Anthony 
Thornton; one brother, Earle and Marge Jenks of Flint.

Mrs. Sherd has been a longtime resident of the Sheridan area and was a member 
of the V.F.W. Post 5065 Ladies Auxiliary of Sheridan.

Visitation will be today from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at the Stebbins & Simpson Funeral 
Home in Sheridan.  Funeral services will be on Wednesday, May 10, 2000, 
beginning at 11 a.m. at the Stebbins & Simpson Funeral Home in Sheridan.  Rev. 
Jack Gladding will be officiating.  Interment is at the Palo Cemetery. Palo.  
The family suggests memorial contributions to the V.F.W. Ladies Auxiliary.
