Jennie M. Sherman, 72, lifelong resident of Segwun, passed away Thursday, Jan. 
7, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Steve McCaul, after a brief illness.  Mrs. 
Sherman was born in Campbell township, Ionia county, Feb. 21, 1881, to Mr. and 
Mrs. Solomon Coopere, and came here with them and her sister, Ida, at an early 
age and has been a resident of Segwun her entire life.

She was united in marriage to Fayette Sherman who preceded her in death several 
years ago.  She has been a good neighbor and friend, always interested in civic 
affairs although in her later years ill health kept her from being active.

Surviving besides her daughter, is a son, Grant Sherman, seven grandchildren 
and eleven great-grandchildren.  One son, Alvin, passed on at the age of three 
years.

Funeral services were held at Roth Funeral Home Saturday afternoon with the 
Rev. Norman G. Woon officiating.  Burial was in Smyrna cemetery.
