The remains, accompanied by the husband and son, Grant, and many other relatives and friends, arrived here Tuesday on the noon train and were taken at once to Baptist church where funeral services, conducted by Rev. Ogg of the Lowell Congregational church, assisted by Rev. F. MacGirr, were held. The interment was made in Westside cemetery, where many relatives of the deceased lie buried. A pathetic incident in the death of Mrs. Sherman came to light when the funeral party reached Pewamo, when it was found that her oldest son, Fayette, Jr., would be unable to be present owing to the delay or misplacement of the telegram sent him as soon as her condition became so serious that it was evident that death was not far distant. Obituary. Georgiana Briggs was born on the banks of Seneca lake, Yates county, New York, June 2nd, 1859. At the age of twelve years she moved with her parents to Pewamo. In 1883 she was united in marriage to Fayette Sherman and to this union were born two sons, Fayette, Jr. aged 28 years and Grant, now nearly 17. They lived in Pewamo until nine years ago, when they disposed of their property here and moved to Lowell, where they were living at the time of her death, which occurred don Friday last, February 14th, at 10:30 a.m. She had been in poor health since last June, but her sickness did not take on a serious aspect until along in the fall. She began to fail more rapidly about Christmas and finally she was taken to Grand Rapids for treatment, but it was of no avail. She was brought back on a cot to Lowell on the Monday previous to her death. Besides her husband and sons she leaves two sisters, Mrs. Mary Conroy, of Lyons, and Mrs. Rebecca Roscoe, of Goshen, Ind.
