March 1, 2013 Kathleen Agnes Sherman, 80, of Orleans, formerly of Saginaw, passed away on Feb. 27, 2013, at Metron of Belding Nursing Home. She was born on July 24, 1932, in Fremont Township, near Saginaw the daughter of Anthony and Celia (Graff) Ballingash. She married Edward L. Sherman on Oct. 2, 1950 at St. Mary Catholic Church in Hemlock, and he preceded her in death on Nov. 7, 2008. Kathleen worked for 17 years as a meat wrapper at Rays Food Fair in Saginaw. She enjoyed to paint, watch television, and spend time with her family, especially the grandchildren and great grandchildren. Kathleen has been a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Belding since relocating to Orleans to be closer to family about eight years ago. Kathleen leaves to cherish her memory, her children Edward (Linda) Sherman Jr. and Rocky Sherman, both of Orleans; grandchildren Edward Lee (Carmen) Sherman lll and Amy (Ty Possehn) Sherman; great grandchildren Ethan and Alex Sherman, Gavin Possehn and Bianca Possehn; sister, Eva Craig; sister-in-law and close friend Ruth Ballingash, sister-in-law Bonnie Coty and a brother-in-law Ray (Shirley) Sherman; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by siblings, Rita Kocis, Frank Ballingash, Anthony Ballingash, Ann Luenberger, Celia Rolfe, Marie Franzel and a twin sister, Kathryn Gilbert. Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated on Saturday, March 2, 2013, at 1 p.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Belding, with Fr. Darrel Kemp, the Celebrant. Visitation will precede the Mass at church beginning at 11:30 a.m. Memorials were welcomed to St. Joseph Catholic Church. Envelopes are available by contacting the funeral home at 616-794-1300.
