Mildred Irene Sherman, 81, of Ionia, formerly of Riverdale, went to be with her 
Lord and Savior on Wednesday, Feb. 19, 2014, at her home.  She was born Dec. 
21, 1932, in Ferris Township, to Marvin and Violet (Wolford) Doolittle.  
Mildred married William Sherman on March 5, 1954, in Stanton.

Mildred was a wonderful, caring mother and grandmother.  She loved spending 
time with her family.  She was an active member of the Ferris Church of Christ 
until moving to Ionia in 2011.

She is survived by her son, Carl (Cherie); granddaughters, Melissa (Erik) 
England, Megan (Adam) Champlin, and Katie (John) Murphy; great-grandchildren, 
Ava England, Liam Champlin, Austin, Caleb and Bryce Murphy; sisters, Betty 
Christiansen and Wanda (Loren) Brasington; and sister-in-law, Noreen Doolittle. 
Mildred was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Bill, in 2011; son, 
Larry Joe; and siblings, Francis, Esther, Clarence, Orville and Gary Doolittle.

A celebration of Mildred's life will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 22, 
2014, at the Ferris Church of Christ, 3443 N. Crystal Road, Vestaburg, MI 
48891.  For those desiring, contributions may be made to the Ferris Church of 
Christ in her memory.  Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Lux and 
Schnepp Funeral Home in Carson City.
