Richard Wayne Sherman, 77, of Carson City, passed away Tuesday, March 11, 2014, 
at Carson City Hospital with his family by his side.  He was born June 29, 
1936, in Lansing to Delos and Fern (Pratt) Sherman.

Richard enjoyed playing music, mowing lawns, and rototilling.  He played the 
electric bass guitar with the Proper Strangers Band for many years.  He loved 
his family with a deep devotion and enjoyed spending time with them. Richard 
proudly served his country in the United States Air Force.  On May 25, 1985, he 
married Darlene Ann Webster in New Haven Twp.

Surviving is his loving wife Darlene; sons, Scott (Gail) Sherman and Barry 
(Lyndall Hare) Sherman; stepson Rex Webster and significant other Kristina 
McQueen; grandchildren, Anthony Wayne Sherman and significant other Hope Cantu-
Rodriguez, and Kayla Lyn Webster; great grandson Royale Anthony Cruz Sherman; 
brother Roland (Francine) Sherman; and four nieces. Richard was preceded in 
death by his parents; first wife Violet in 1981; and brother Robert Sherman.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, March 15, 2014, at 2 p.m. at the Lux 
and Schnepp Funeral Home, Carson City.  The family will receive friends two 
hours prior to the service on Saturday.  Those desiring may make contributions 
in Richard's memory to the family.
