Duane E. Sherman, 55, of Muir passed away Aug. 6, 2012 in Lansing. He was born 
Feb. 27, 1957 in Newport News, Va., the son of Larry and Nancy (Sochor) Sherman.

He graduated from Ionia High School class of 1975. Duane started work as a 
carpenter, becoming a licensed builder. He would later enter the skilled 
trades, where he worked for I.E.M., E.C.D. and lastly with Johnson Controls in 
Lansing. Duane was always involved a the Ionia Free Fair where he was a 
carpenter. He loved to fish, landscape, and be outdoors and belly wash.

Duane is survived by his children, Jeana (Doug) Hansen of Greenville, Brooke 
(Ken) Sherman-Bailey of Edwardsburg and Duey Sherman and Carrie Fineis of Muir; 
special friend, Nancy Tormen and her daughter, Jessica Tormen of Lansing; 
brothers, Gerald (Paulette) Sherman of Muir and Darrell (Becky) Sherman of 
Greenville; sister, Carol White of Muir; grandchildren, Austin, Grant, Dane, 
Ella, Sawyer and Jayden; and great-grandchild, Camden.

He was preceded in death by his father.

There will be a friends and family gathering at 5 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 11 at 
Gerald's Home, 430 East St., Muir.
