The Ionia Daily Sentinel, Tuesday, July 15, 1913
Lucius Adelbert Sherman was born in Otsego county, N. Y., March 31, 1847 and 
died July 9, 1913, aged 66 years, 3 months and 10 days.

When but a boy in his teens he enlisted in the 152nd N. Y. infantry for nearly 
three years.  In 1867 he was married to Celestia Sponburg and to this union 
was born three children—Della, Wm. A., and Grace.  They moved from Otsego 
county, N. Y., in 1870 to Muir where they have since made their home.    He 
was associated in business for many years with his brother-in-law, Dayton 
Douglas and was a loyal member of the Grand Army of the Republic to the last.

His wife and children, one sister and many friends are left to miss him.

The funeral was held at the home Friday afternoon, Rev. M. J. Weaver 
officiating.  The singers were Mrs. Ruel and Mrs. Lobdell.  Twenty members of 
the Grand Army of the Republic were in attendance and the burial service of 
the order was used.
