Clark Sherman was born Oct. 19th, 1820 in Steuben Co. N.Y. Migrated with her husband, Jas. A. Sherman to Michigan in October, 1862, and settled in the township of Danby, Ionia Co., where she has lived for the greater part of the time since. She was the mother of eight children five of whom still survive. They are Mrs. Hannah Reeder, Portland; Mrs. F. W. Redfern, Maple Rapids; Dell Sherman, Sebewa; Oscar Sherman, Owosso; Mrs. Ed. Gilbert, Shelby. She was for many years a consistent member of the Methodist Episcopal church. She loved the Savior and has longed for many years to go to him and rest from her earthly cares. The Savior called her at eleven o’clock a.m. Nov. 9th and she has entered into the rest prepared for those that love him. A kind friend, a good wife, a loving mother. No nobler epitaph can be written, and of her this may all be truly said. Those who attended the funeral from out of town were Mr. and Mrs. F. W. Redfern of Maple Rapids, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Redfern of Lansing; Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Sherman of Owosso and Mrs. E. M. Ray of Blanchard.
