ERNEST R. SHERWOOD
IONIA - Ernest R. Sherwood, 90, of 1928 W. Peck Lake Road died Monday afternoon in
Kent Community Hospital, Grand Rapids.

He was born in Berlin Township Feb. 2, 1892, the son of Frank and Ida Minor
Sherwood. A life-long resident and farmer, he was also a veteran of World War I.

He was a member of the Berlin Center Grange, and the Saranac American Legion Post.

He was married to Mildred L. Pool march 19, 1919, in Grand Rapids. She preceded him
in death March 1, 1979.

Surviving is a daughter, Betty; two sisters, Mrs.Mary Kress of Battle Creek and Mrs.
Helen Tomlinson of Haslett; nieces and nephews.

One son, Robert, preceded him in death in 1944. A brother and sister also preceded
him in death.

Funeral services will be today at 1 p.m. from the Lake funeral Home, the Rev. Willis
Braun of LeValley and Berlin center United methodist Churches, will officiate. Burial will be
Saranac Cemetery.

A memorial has been established for the Berlin Center United methodist church., in
care of the funeral home.
