Sentinel-Std. - Monday, Aug. 3, 1964

Funeral service will be conducted at 11 o'clock Tuesday morning for Mrs. Ada E. 
Sherwood, 84 of Orleans, who died Sunday at United memorial hospital in 
Greenville.

Born in Mechanicsburg, Ohio, November 1, 1879, she had lived in Orleans the 
past 60 years. December 17, 1900 she was married to Allen Sherwood, who died in 
1940.

Mrs. Sherwood was a member of Orleans Methodist church and a life member of 
Doric Chapter 75, Order of Eastern Star. She was a charter member of Orleans 
Literary club and past township chairman of Orleans Red Cross.

Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. William (Moon) Franch and Mrs. Claude 
Schwartz of Ionia, a sister, Mrs. Ida Wandell of Ionia, one grandson, William 
A. Franch Jr. of Annapolis, Md.

Rev. Ralph Dean of Belding Methodist church will officiate and services at 
Huffman, Belding funeral home and burial in Orleans cemetery.
