Jan. 9, 1941 HEART ATTACK FATEL TO ARZIE SHERWOOD, BERLIN Arzie Sherwood, 52, Berlin township farmer, died Saturday evening from a heart attack suffered when he attempted to shovel and push his truck out of the snow on the Clarksville road two miles west of M-14 in Odessa township. the headlights of his machine and apparently no activity around it attracted the attention of Horace Buche, a nearby farmer. Buche found Sherwood unconscious beside his truck which was stalled in a snow bank. Summoning aid, Buche carried Sherwood in his home where the man died a short time later. The body was brought to the Wortley & Baine funeral home here. Funeral services were held from the late home, a mile north of the Rudd service station on US-16, on Tuesday afternoon, the Rev. Ralph Bates, pastor of the LeValley Methodist church, officiated. Burial was in Balcom cemetery in Berlin township. He is survived by the widow, Lois, a son and daughter, Douglas R. and Donna at home, and a daughter, Mrs. Dorris Fagin in Lansing.
