Evelyn G. Sherwood age 80, of Ionia passed away August 31, 2006 in Ionia. She 
was born September 21, 1925 in Clinton County the daughter of Ervin and Doris 
(Kuhns) Baylis. Evelyn married Douglas Sherwood, May 1, 1948 at the Methodist 
Church in Lake Odessa. He preceded her in death in 1986.  She farmed 269 acres 
with her husband until 1981. She was a member of Berlin Center Methodist 
Church. Evelyn was Baptized in 1999 by the church of Latter Day Saints and she 
attended Shiloh Community Church.

Evelyn is survived by her sons, David and Sherrie Sherwood of Ionia, William 
A. and Charyl Sherwood of Linden, Randy and Ronda of Ionia, Stephen and Adella 
of California, Donald and Susan Sherwood of Ionia; brothers, Lloyd and Joann 
Baylis of Belding, Richard and Gloria Baylis of Detour, Tom and Judy Baylis of 
Ionia; sisters, Betty and Ronald Vining of Portage, Diana and Vern Rowley of 
Ionia; 14 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.  She was preceded in death 
by her husband, 1 son and 3 brothers.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM, Wednesday at Lake Funeral Home in 
Ionia with Rev. Mark Johnson officiating. Interment in Balcom Cemetery. The 
family will receive friends and relatives Tuesday 5- 8:00 PM. Anyone wishing 
may make memorial contributions to Grand Rapids Area Hospice.
