Shetterly, 84 of 622 Fourth Avenue, Lake Odessa passed away Saturday, April 11, 1992 at Pennock Hospital. Mr. Shetterly was born June 4, 1907 in Sebewa Township, the son of Ozro and Lillie (Rose) Shetterly. He graduated from Lake Odessa High School in 1925 and attended Michigan State College for two years. He was married to Winnie Bryans on June 4, 1930 in Potterville. He lived and farmed in the Lake Odessa are and also worked as a field man for the Lake Odessa Canning Company for several years, retiring in 1980. He was the first president of the State 4-H advisory counsel, a 4-H leader for 15 years, served on the Draft Board, was a member of he Farm Bureau and the Lake Odessa Congregational Church. Mr. Shetterly is survived by his wife, Winnie; one son, Phillip of Lake Odessa; three daughters, Shirley Chapman of Monroe, Joy Wickham of Lake Odessa and Linda Kenneson of New Market, New Hampshire; 14 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one sister, Gladys Cook in 1988. Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 14 at the Koops Funeral Chapel in Lake Odessa with Reverend Keith McIver officiating. Burial will be in Lakeside Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Congregational Church.
