Ionia Sentinel - 18 June 1962
Word was received in Ionia Tuesday of the death of Mrs. Jennie Bertha Shigley, 
71, of 322 South Burrows Street, State College, Pa.  she died unexpectedly at  
7:20 Tuesday morning. She was born June 17, 1891 at Peabody, Kansas the 
daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William L. Kelley and was married October 25, 1916 to 
Dr. James F. Shigley.  She was a member of University Baptist church of State 
college.  In 1912 she was graduated from what is now Eastern Michigan 
university,  Ypsilanti and taught school in Belding four years and was 
principal two years .

Besides her husband she is survived by two sons, James W. and Dr. Robert 
Shigley of State college, Pa.; two daughters Mrs. Raymond Farwell of 
Greensburg, Pa., and Mrs. Claude Crouser of Pittsfield Mass., and nine 
grandchildren.

Funeral service will be held at Koch funeral home, State college, PA., Friday 
at 10:30 am with the Rev. Earl F. Spencer officiating.  Interment will be at 
Center County Memorial Park.
