MRS. ABBIE SHILTON DIES THANKSGIVING EVENING

Widow of Samuel Shilton Passes Away at Home of Daughter in Otsego.

Mrs. Abbie Shilton, widow of Samuel Shilton, formerly of Sebewa, died at the 
home of a daughter, Mrs. Ella Gill, at Otsego, in the evening of Thanksgiving 
Day. The remains were taken to Ionia, where funeral services were held Sunday, 
with burial in Tuttle Cemetery.

Mrs. Shilton, whose maiden name was Ostrander, was born 75 years ago in Ionia, 
near where the court house now stands. A little more than 50 years ago she 
married Mr. Shilton and they settled on a farm in Orange, later moving to 
Sebewa, where Mr. Shilton died 12 years ago.

She spent last summer with her other daughter, Mrs. Charles Rader, in Portland, 
and a few weeks ago went to Otsego to spend the winter with Mrs. Gill. She had 
been in poor health for some time.
