                  JOHN SHILTON DIES AT DAUGHTERS HOME

                                        -----------

   LONG RESIDENT OF THIS VICINITY, AND WELL KNOWN IN AND 

  AROUND IONIA COUNTY.  LEAVES WIFE AND THREE DAUGHTERS.

                                         -----------

   John Shilton passed away at the home of his daughter, Mrs. George Beunger, Friday
morning, August 10, at 
Grand Rapids.

   Mr. Shilton died of a lingering illness, being unable to handle matters of
business for the past twelve years.

   He leaves a widow and three daughters, Mrs. Goerge Buenger, Mrs. Frank Harris and
Mrs. Frank Laubscher, 
all of Grand Rapids, also three grandchildren, Frances and Oliver Harris ad Mrs.
Leslie Kompermon and one 
great grandchild, little George Kompermon; two sisters, Mrs. Marion Patrick of
Ionia, Mrs. Margaret Greene of 
Grand Rapids, and one brother, Mr. Arthur Shilton of Ada.

   Christian Science services were held at the Burton Sping chapel at Grand Rapids,
Sunday morning at ten 
o'clock and at 11:30 at Lakeside cemetery, Lake Odessa.
