The Lake Odessa Wave, Thursday, June 16, 1930
Mrs. Hattie Canfield was born near Crystal in 1866, was married to Andrew 
Shilton of Sebewa, where she has lived more than thirty years.  She was a 
Christian all her life and died in the faith Wednesday, January 8, 1930.  The 
funeral was held at the home last Saturday, burial was in Tuttle cemetery.

She leaves besides her husband, four children: Earnest A. of Oakland, Calif.; 
Iril at home; Orilla Bottom of Grand Rapids, and Alta Shilton of Ionia, and 
three grandchildren to mourn their loss.

The deceased was at one time a correspondent for the Wave Times for the 
territory of North Sebewa.

their kindness and sympathy at the time of the illness and death of our wife 
and mother.
