The Ionia Sentinel-Standard, Friday, December 5, 1958
Mrs. Matilda Mae Shilton, 55, of route one, Portland, and life long resident 
of that area, died Thursday morning at a Charlotte hospital after one day of 
illness.  

She is survived by her husband, Iril; four sons, Carl of Grand Ledge, Howard 
of Saranac, Kenneth and Royal, both at home; four daughters, Mrs. Margaret 
Ackerson and Mrs. Pauline Towner of Milliken, Mrs. Edith Tucker of Belding, 
and Mrs. Bertha Smith of Sunfield; 20 grandchildren; three brothers; and four 
sisters.

Funeral services will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at Maples funeral home in 
Sunfield.  Burial will be at East Sebewa cemetery.

Funeral services for Mrs. Matilda Mae Shilton, 55, of route one, Portland, who 
died Thursday, was held Saturday at Mapes funeral home at Sunfield.  
Pallbearers were Howard Beyers, Ralph Cross, Walter Luscher, Wesley Meyers, 
Allen Cross and Joseph Cassel.

Interment was in East Sebewa cemetery.
