He was born the son of Leo and Gertrude Shindorf on March 13, 1919 in Smyrna. Bud served in the US Army during World War II. He worked for 45 years at Extruded Metals in Belding retiring as a foreman in 1984. He was a long-time member of first Christian Church in Ionia. He married the former Anna Rose Bennett-Gillett on Dec. 19, 1969. Surviving are his wife, Anna; one son, Ronnie F. (Lois) Shindorf of Florida; two stepdaughters, Kathy Rice of Lansing and Joyce (Tedd) Craven of St. Johns; 19 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; four brothers, Richard (Florence) Shindorf of Belding, Paul (Opal) Shindorf of Florida, Bernard (Hilda) Shindorf of Smyrna and Henry (Treva) Shindorf of Ionia; four sisters, Madeline Kahley of Arizona, Verda (Charles) Rutz of Ionia, Sarah Holbrook of Belding and Beverly (Jack) Hessler of Belding; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters. According to Bud’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m., Friday from the First Christian Church in Ionia with Rev. Carol Meeder officiating. The organist will be Thelma Walkington. Visitation for Bud will be from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m., Friday at the Church.
