She had been in ill health for a number of years and bed-ridden for the past year. Mrs. Shindorf was the widow of Anthony Shindorf, who preceded her in death many years ago. Josephine Blasen was born in 1859, the daughter of Henry and Catherine Blasen, in the vicinity known as Bartonville, west of Smyrna. In 1876 she was married to Anthony Shindorf and they set up housekeeping at the farm in Miriam which has ever since been her home. For 60 years she had lived in this neighborhood and many they are who know and sincerely love her. Survivors are the daughter, Mrs. Rose Scheid, and two granddaughters, Marian, at home and Mrs. Lawrence Krieger of Ludington. Funeral services were held Wednesday morning at 9 o’clock in St. Mary’s church, Miriam. Rev. Fr. J. A. Maier of Richmond officiated at the solemn high Mass, assisted by Fr. L. L. Dorr, local pastor, and Fr. Charles Wettstein of Yale. Burial was at Miriam.
