William F. “Bill” Shindorf, 81, of Belding passed away Monday, May 12, 2003 at 
United Memorial Health Center in Greenville.  He was born September 22, 1921 
in Otisco Township, the son of Benjamin and Anna Kessler Shindorf.  

He retired after many years of service at Extruded Metals Corporation.  He was 
a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church.  Bill married Ida Sigsby August 24, 
1947 in Miriam.  She preceded him in death on October 14, 1944.  He later 
married Madeline Howell in 1979.  Madeline preceded Bill in death on February 
16, 2002.  He was also preceded in death by his parents. 

Surviving are his children; Anna Marie Shindorf of Belding, and Kenneth 
Shindorf of Belding, his stepchildren, Joe and Betty Howell of Belding and 
Mike and Carol Howell of Florida; one grandson, Scott W. and Rebecca Shindorf 
of Greenville; his great-grandchildren, Tyler and Justin; and sisters and 
brothers-in-law, Marcella and Roy Sower of Belding; Rosemary and Ernest 
VanOcker of Belding and Theresa and William Teneycke of Grand Rapids.

Mass of Christian burial is 11 a.m. Friday at St. Mary Catholic Church, 
Miriam, with Father Troy a. Nevins as celebrant.  Please meet at the church.  
Interment will be in St. Mary Catholic Cemetery.

Visitation is 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday at the Johnson-Feuerstein Funeral Home 
in Belding, with a Rosary prayed at 7:30 p.m.  Memorial contributions may be 
given to a charity of one’s choice.

Transcriber’s Note:   The date of marriage to Ida Sigsby and her death are as 
stated in the obituary, even though one date, and possibly both, is obviously 
incorrect.
