Mr. Shipman was working in a lot at the rear of the home unaware that the five gas jets on the kitchen range were turned on and his wife was dying on the kitchen floor. he could give no reason for her act. She seemed well at noon, chatting about different topics during the meal. She appeared cheerful when he stated that he was going out to cut some wood. when he found her she was lying on her back on the floor, her arms outstretched. He carried her outside and tried to revive her. With the assistance of Don Cook, who was passing, he tried restorative measures but to no avail. Coroner Bruce G. Fales was notified and impaneled a jury, Fred Thompson, Herber Blair, Don Cook, Vern Keiser, Vern Bowen and Charles Madden, who will be called to act if an inquest should be held. The funeral services will be held at the Fales funeral home Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock. The burial will be in the River Ridge cemetery. Mrs. Shipman's maiden name was Ellis M. Brown. She has brothers and sisters living at McIvor.
