Dec. 30, 1968 PEWAMO- A former superintendent of Pewamo schools, Philip Schiska, 68, died Sunday at Clinton Memorial hospital, St. Johns. He was a graduate of Michigan State University, East Lansing and an educator 36 years, 20 years in the Republic and 16 years in Pewamo. he was retiree in 1964. Besides his wife Dorothy, he leaves two daughters; Mrs. Carlette Limdbloom of Houston, Texas and Mrs. Dorothy Jo Pline of Pewamo; eight grandchildren; three brothers, John of Norway, Ted of Ypsilanti and Martin of Minneapolis, Minn.; four sisters, Mrs. Rose Forcier of Toppenish, Wash., Josephine Schiska of Stillwater, Minn., Mrs. Celia Richel of Gladstone and Mrs. Anne Fleming of Davison. He was a member of the Holy Name Society of St. Joseph Catholic Parish of Pewamo. Funeral services will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic church in Pewamo with burial in the church cemetery. Rosary will be recited at 3 and 8 pm Monday at Geller funeral home in Westphalia. Bearers will be Alex Martin, Francis Silvernail, Joseph _______, ______________, _____________________, Clyde Shoemaker and Dr. Glenn Sterner.
