Melody Ann Shively, 57, of Belding, passed away at Spectrum Health United
Memorial United Campus, Greenville.  She was born March 28, 1947, in Binghamton,
N.Y., the daughter of Robert and Audrey Messmer Barrett.  

Melody had lived in the Belding area for the past 16 years and had worked at the
Marathon Station in Belding.  She was a member of Belding Bible Church.  She
enjoyed crocheting and spending time with her family.  Melody was a loving wife,
mother and grandmother and will be greatly missed by her family and friends. 
She was married June 21, 1984, in Orlando, Fla., to Robert Shively.

She was preceded in death by her parents.  She is survived by her husband,
Robert; their children, Lisa and Eric Sanborn of Orleans, Terri Lynn and Steve
Jabaay of Lansing, Ill, Mary Shively, Ronnie and Carol Shively, Tim Shively, all
of Holt, Elisa Shively of Owosso; 12 grandchildren; one great-grandchild;
stepmother, Joan Smith of Tampa, Fla.; and brothers and sisters, David, Jeff,
Rob, Ted, Jim, Carol, Terri, Amy, Stephanie, Elizabeth.

In keeping with Melody’s wishes, cremation has taken place.  Memorial services
are 11 a.m. Wednesday at Johnson-Feuerstein Funeral Home, Belding, with Pastor
Ken Martin, of Belding Bible Church, officiating.  Inurnment will take place in
the spring in Richland Township Cemetery.  There will be no visitation. 
Memorial contributions may be given to Belding Bible Church.
