Mrs. Shoemaker had been ill for the past three months and died with a cerebral hemorrhage. She had spent her entire girlhood in Ionia and graduated from the Ionia high school. While here she was an active member of the Ionia Methodist church. She is survived by her husband, Lucious; mother, Mrs. Sarah Gardner, of Flint, three brothers, Earl H., of Flint, George W., of Lansing, and Frank W., of Boston, Mass.; two nieces and eight nephews. Funeral services will be held Friday morning, March 13, at 11 o’clock from the Rose chapel, Algoe-Gunery funeral home, Flint, Rev. Harold W. Barden, of the M. E. church, Flint, officiating. The auxiliary of the sons of union veterans of the civil war in which Mrs. Shoemaker was affiliated, will conduct the services. Burial will be in Oak Hill cemetery, Ionia.
