She was born Jan. 23, 1906, in Belding, the daughter of John and Eva Zerba Thompson. On Jan. 28, 1922, she married Clifford S. Shoen in Stanton. She co-owned and operated the Rainbow Gardens roller skating rink in Crystal with her husband, Clifford. She was a life member of Order of Eastern Star Chapter Nine and a member of the Past Worthy Matrons Club. She also was a member of the Traditional Congregational Church of Stanton. She is survived by her husband of 75 years, Clifford Shoen of Crystal; one son and daughter-in-law, Barney and Lorraine Shoen of Crystal; two daughters and one son-in-law, Elizabeth and Ivan Bowers of Fenwick, Yvonne Haas of Ionia; eight grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, six great-great-grandchildren; and one sister, Ruth Wright of Ionia. She was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Francis C. Shoen; one brother; one sister; one son-in-law, Richard L. Haas; and one great-grandson, Alex Bonema. Funeral services will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. at the Lux and Schnepp Funeral Home, Crystal, with Pastor Mike Murray officiating. Interment will be in the Evergreen Cemetery, Sheridan. Visitors may call at the funeral home today from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Memorials may be made to the Salvation Army or the Traditional Congregational Church of Stanton.
