Aug. 13, 1936 OWNER OF DAD’S BOAT LIVERY DIES WEDNESDAY EVE. Homer D. Shoff, 80, died at his home on south Jordan Lake Avenue here early Wednesday evening following an illness of several weeks. He is survived by the widow, Emma Shoff here, a daughter, Mrs. Eugene Andre, a son, Elmer Shoff, three grandchildren, and one great grandchild who all live at Grand Ledge. The funeral will be held at 2 o’clock Saturday afternoon at the Teman funeral home in Grand Ledge. Burial will be made at Crystal. Mr. Shoff moved here from Grand Ledge about eleven years ago and since that time has owned and conducted, what he called “Dad’s Boat Livery: just east of the municipal bathing beach on Jordan Lake. Lagely he has been assisted in management by one of his grandsons.
