Shong, 81, of St. Johns, passed away Sunday, July 27, 2003 at Hazel I. Findley Country Manor, St. Johns. She was born in Wheeler on March 12, 1922, the daughter of Floyd and Louise (Miller) Randall. She married Richard Shong in Portland on May 12, 1956, Richard died October 27, 2000. She resided most of her life in the Portland area, she was a member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary in Lake Odessa. She retired from Chrysler Corporation in 1979. She is survived by her three children, Jane Scutt of Portland, Jim and Sharon Adair of St. Johns, Bill and Pam Adair of St. Johns; three stepchildren, Mr. and Mrs. Tom Shong of Greenville, Dennis and May Shong of Lake Odessa and David and Pam Shong of Kentucky; several grand and great-grandchildren; one sister, Rite Blanshine of Allegan; and several nieces and nephews, including two special nieces, Brenda Gary and Linda Kruger. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and sisters and brothers. Funeral services will be held at Smith Family Funeral Homes, St. Johns Chapel on Wednesday at 11 a.m. with Pastor Larry Howland officiating. Burial will be at Mt. Rest Cemetery, St. Johns. Visitation will be Tuesday evening from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Memorial contributions can be made to her family. The family is being served by Smith Family Funeral Homes, St. Johns Chapel.
