Shook, 47, rural route 3, Lake Odessa, died at 4 p.m. Saturday at the University of Michigan hospital in Ann Arbor after being a patient there for three days. He had been in ill health for the past year. He was born in Sioux City, Iowa, on October 3, 1909 the son of Frank and Mary Brown Shook. Shook came to the Lake Odessa area in 1939 where he lived on the Ed Demaray farm which he later purchased. Surviving are his wife, Dora, two sons, LaVerne and Dennis, both at home; his father, Frank Shook of South Sioux City, Nebraska; three sisters, Mrs. Ruth Devries, Mrs. Ben Sellesman and Mrs. Florence Owen, all of Grand Rapids; five brothers, Gale of Alto, Lloyd of Lake Odessa, Frank Jr. and Warren of Grand Rapids. The body is at the farm home and will remain there until funeral services to be held on Tuesday at 2 p.m. at the Sebewa Center Methodist church, with the Rev. Robert Carson officiating. Interment will be in the Lakeside cemetery.
