She was married November 6th, 1901, and died November 21st, 1903, at Laton, California, being 23 years of age, and the only child of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Barker. The father having died when she was but eight months old. Her health began to fail a year ago and she desired to be taken west, hoping to regain her health. She and her husband and child started from Lake Odessa, August 31st and went to Clarkston, Washington but later moved to Spokane, Washington, but the air being too light for her they went by boat to San Francisco, California, where she was in the hospital three days, and learned physicians told her husband all medical aid could not restore her health. Death was near. From there they went to Laton, California, where she enjoyed the warm air and beautiful scenery, and partially rallied, but death came the afternoon of November 10th. She had finished a letter to her mother, in the morning. She was conscious till the last having bad her husband good-bye. The funeral was held and many kind friends and the Laton choir attended in a body. Later word was received to bring her home, which he did as soon as possible. The departed leaves a husband and one child, Golda, a mother and countless friends who mourn her death. She was an earnest worker for the master, and is indeed asleep in Jesus.
