She is survived by her former husband, James Shore (Dorothy) of Daytona Beach, Fla., and her four children: son, David and Melissa-Truesch Shore of Westerville, Ohio, daughter, Lynn and Francis Mason of Belding, and sons Allan Shore (Erick) of Benicia, Calif., and Duane Shore of Belding. She is also survived by her cousin, Lois (Bill) Riley of Trenton; her sister-in- law, Jeanne (Kenny) Hallem of Grandville; her grandson, Martin (Jamie) Mason of Belding; two great-grandchildren, Payton Jo and Jackson James; her grandson, Spencer Shoe (Nikki Goldy); her 2-month-old great-grandson, Emerson Orion Shore of Kentwood; her grandson, Richard Mason of S. Fort Myers, Fla.; and granddaughter, Brittany Noel Shore from Cheboygan. She was preceded in death by her grandparents; her sister, Vera Cotter (Belding – 1994); her brother, Richard Smith (Redford Twp. -2001); her mother, Ethel; and grandpa, Harold Caldwell. Joanne was a loving and proud mom, born in Ecorse, and a longtime resident of Belding. Painting and wallpapering were her passions and she was a former employee at one of Belding’s original Silk Mills with her sister, Vera. Later in life, she enjoyed feeding the birds, watching the Food and Travel Channels and rubbing off her tickets. Joanne loved visiting with her friends at the VFW Hall and was a long-time member of the American Legion; she is already being missed deeply. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Friday, Sept. 23, at Johnson-Feuerstein Funeral Home, Belding with Pastor Byron Davey officiating. Visitation services will be one hour before the service. Committal prayers will follow at Ashley Cemetery. A gathering of family and friends will follow the services at the American Legion Post in downtown Belding. Memorial contributions may be given to the wishes of the family, Belding Area Food Pantry and Mel Trotter.
