The Ionia Daily Standard, Thursday, April 1, 1897

Edwin Short, a former resident of Ionia, died at Grand Rapids yesterday 
morning.  The remains arrived here on afternoon train and were received by a 
detail of Borden post under charge of Commander Just.  The funeral will be 
held at residence of his son-in-law on Cyrus street at 10 o’clock tomorrow 
morning.

Comrades of Borden post are requested to meet at post room, at 9:30 tomorrow 
(Friday) morning, to attend the funeral service for Comrade Short.
